After a delicious breakfast and checking out from the hotel in Cairo, you will meet your guide for a memorable journey through the height of ancient Egyptian culture by visiting some of the most famous sites in Egypt.

Your journey begins at the Giza Pyramids Complex, an eternal embodiment of Egyptian grandeur. These massive structures, erected over 5,000 years ago, represent the elegance, majesty, and architectural genius of the pharaohs of old.

Proudly standing at the center of the complex is the Great Pyramid of King Khufu. Built in 2570 BC, this iconic monument stands 146.6 meters (481 feet) tall, weighing 6 million tons, with 2.3 million limestone blocks. It is the only remaining wonder from the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. To explore the pyramid, you can go inside the chambers of the king and the queen, which gives you an insight into the reign of the Old Kingdom (2686-2134 BC).

The Great Sphinx, a towering protector with the face of Pharaoh Khafre (2558-2532 BC) and the body of a lion, stands nearby. The Great Sphinx measures 73 meters (240 ft) long, 20 meters (66 ft) high, and 19 meters (62 ft) wide, making it an object of reverence as a divine protector. The Dream Stele of Thutmose IV was erected between the paws of the Great Sphinx during the New Kingdom period (1570-1050 BC).

Side by side with the Sphinx stands the Valley Temple, where the sacred rituals of mummification and the “Opening of the Mouth” ceremony took place, securing the journey into immortality for the kings of the 4th dynasty.

Your next destination is the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), an enormous wonder that occupies almost 490,000 square meters and is designed in harmony with the star pyramids of Giza. GEM contains more than 5,000 treasures of Tutankhamun, such as the Hanging Obelisk and the 11-meter Colossus of Ramses II, and provides a connection between the past and the future by using the latest architecture and conservation technologies.

Relish a mouth-watering lunch at a restaurant with a spectacular view of the pyramids. Later, proceed to Saqqara Step Pyramid, the revolutionary architectural feat created by Pharaoh Djoser in 2670-2650 BC. Conceived by the famous architect Imhotep, the high priest of the sun god Ra, this six-stepped pyramid stands 62 meters high and marked the beginning of stone architectural wonders in Egypt, as the final resting place of the divine pharaoh.

After finishing your day, we will transfer you to Cairo Airport to fly straight to Luxor and check into a Nile cruise for the overnight.

Flight: From Cairo to Luxor

Overnight: Onboard the Cruise

After enjoying your breakfast onboard the cruise, you will then proceed with your guide to explore the secrets of the West Bank in Luxor. Your first destination is the Valley of the Kings, which is the underground world of 63 tombs, where the eternal treasures and legacies of the greatest rulers of ancient Egypt lie, from the Ramesses family to Seti I, Hatshepsut, Amenhotep I, Tutankhamun, and many more. Walking through these ancient passages, you will experience the history and majesty of the Theban Necropolis.

The next destination that you are about to visit is the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut. This breathtaking work of art has been excavated out of the cliffs of Deir el Bahri. This temple honors the accomplishments of one of Egypt’s greatest female pharaohs in three massive tiers.

The final destination of the day is the Colossi of Memnon. These are two enormous statues of Amenhotep III, made of sandstone quartz, standing 18 meters (60 ft) high. Despite the damage they have suffered over the centuries, the Colossi have been the inspiration of many travelers, historians, and Egyptologists.

After this amazing adventure, you will go back to your Nile Cruise, where you will have lunch, relax, and later have dinner while you spend the rest of the evening on the cruise.

On Day Four, after your breakfast, it is time to get ready to visit one of Egypt’s most enchanting temples, known as the Temple of Edfu. This enchanting and well-preserved temple is one of the latest temples to be built during ancient Egyptian civilization, dating to the Ptolemaic period (237-57 BC). This is actually the site of the legendary battle between Set and Horus on sacred ground.

After immersing yourself in this timeless location, you will return to your Nile Cruise to enjoy lunch and dinner as you sail blissfully towards the eternal city of Aswan, in preparation for the wonders that lie ahead.

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, you will proceed with your cultural adventure for the next 10 days by exploring the magical attractions of Aswan.

Starting with the High Dam, which is considered a miracle of the 1960s and brought Egypt into the Industrial Age. Not to mention the fact that the High Dam generates electricity and also holds water from Lake Nasser to irrigate the land.

Moving on, there is a visit to the Unfinished Obelisk, which is one of Egypt’s most interesting open-air monuments. Created during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut (1508-1458 BC), it is still lodged in the bedrock where it partially broke off as it was being chiselled. The obelisk is 42 meters tall.

Next, visit the holy Temple of Philae, an awe-inspiring monument built in the worship of Isis, the goddess of healing and motherhood, the consort of Osiris, and the mother of Horus. This temple was constructed between 380-362 BC and was further expanded during the Ptolemaic period. The temple features massive carvings of relief stories on its walls.

After a day full of awe-inspiring history, return to your luxury Nile Cruise for lunch and dinner, and spend the night listening to the soothing sounds of the Nile, before embarking on another day full of unforgettable adventures.

 Overnight: Onboard the Cruise

Early in the morning, after having your breakfast boxes, you will head out with your tour guide on a thrilling trip southwest of Aswan to witness one of the most impressive sights in Egypt, the Abu Simbel temples.

These giant temples were realized by the creativity and ambition of Ramses the Great (1279-1213 BCE) in 1264 BC. Sitting at the tip of Egypt, these temples were meant for the annual sun festival of the gods Ptah, Amun, and Ra-Hor-Akhty on October 22nd and February 22nd of every year. Aside from their religious significance, these temples also commemorate the great accomplishments of Ramses, such as the signing of the first recorded peace treaty in 1274 BC after the Battle of Kadesh, and his love for his spouse, Queen Nefertari, who was dedicated to the goddess Hathor.

After having admired the grandeur and astronomical positioning of these holy temples, you will be transferred back to your Nile Cruise in Aswan to enjoy lunch and dinner, and spend a relaxing night onboard in preparation for another day of discovery.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Overnight: Onboard the Cruise

After having your breakfast on the Nile Cruise ship, you will be escorted by your guide to visit the magnificent Kom Ombo Temple.

This magical double temple, situated on the golden banks of the Nile, dates back to the Ptolemaic era (180–47 BC). What's most interesting about this temple is that it's perfectly symmetrical. This means that the temple is divided into two equal halves, each devoted to a separate god. While one half of the temple is devoted to the god of fertility, Sobek, the crocodile god, the other half is devoted to Haroeris, the god of the falcon.

After being amazed by this foreign and fascinating temple, you will return to your Nile Cruise to enjoy lunch and dinner, while continuing the peaceful sailing to the eternal city of Luxor.

After enjoying breakfast, you can proceed with your tour guide to visit some of the greatest sites in Luxor, which include the Karnak Temple.

This incredible work of divine artwork and architecture remained the spiritual center of ancient Egypt, a monument to their spiritual life for many centuries. The building of this architectural and spiritual complex dates from the Middle Kingdom to the Greco-Roman Period (1971 BC – 30 BC) and honored the Theban Triad of gods Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. As you move through this ancient temple complex, you will be fascinated by the Avenue of Sphinxes, the Hypostyle Hall, and many other shrines.

After this experience, you return to your Nile Cruise for lunch. After lunch, you prepare for an enchanting evening experience. At night, you leave with your guide to visit the Luxor Temple.

Dating back to 1400 BC, the Temple of Luxor was the southern cult center of Egypt, where pharaohs like Amenhotep III, Ramses the Great, and even Alexander the Great held coronation ceremonies, joyously marking the regeneration of the kings. This temple is an enchanting outdoor museum, where you can experience the majesty of ancient Egyptian civilization with the warm golden lighting of the night.

After immersing yourself in this astronomical sight, it is time to return to your cruise to enjoy dinner and a relaxing overnight stay, as there is much to look forward to the next day.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Overnight: Onboard the Cruise

The ninth day of your Egyptian experience begins with a gentle awakening from the sun as you take breakfast on board the Nile Cruise. After breakfast and checkout, you proceed with a flight that will take you back to Cairo, a city with a rich history and a blend of ancient and contemporary life. As you land, you are accompanied by a tour guide as you navigate through Old Cairo, and you are immediately fascinated by what you see.

The first point of interest will be the Egyptian Museum, a treasure trove of the 5,000-year-old Egyptian civilization. As you move through its two glorious floors, you will be transported through time, amazed at the historical artifacts and monuments that speak of pharaohs, queens, and gods. All the statues, golden masks, and relics will whisper secrets of a civilization that ruled the world.

After this trip through time, enjoy a delightful lunch at a prime restaurant in Cairo, refueling for the next part of your day. The second part includes a visit to the Hanging Church, which sits beautifully atop the Roman fortress of Babylon. As you climb the stairs, imagine the Holy Family taking refuge there many years ago. The interior and height of the church are breathtaking.

Next, visit the Amr Ibn Al-Aas Mosque, the first mosque ever erected on the African continent, built in 641 AD in Fustat. Its majesty and architectural design reflect the birth of Islamic Egypt, where history was etched in stone out of devotion. Every arch whispers secrets of the ages, and you can feel the rhythm of a great civilization that influenced a continent.

As you proceed, the golden city of Cairo holds yet another treasure—the Ben Ezra Synagogue. Originally a church, it was converted into a synagogue in 882 AD. This is believed to be the place where Moses was brought up. You can feel the history etched in the architectural designs of this place.

The tour continues to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC), an architectural wonder that captures the essence of Egypt in its corridors. Established in 2020, it houses 50,000 artifacts and 28 royal mummies, providing awe-inspiring insight into the lives of pharaohs and ordinary Egyptians. Here, history comes alive, and you can feel the pulse of Egypt’s living civilization.

Your journey continues along Al Muizz Street, a living museum of the Fatimid period. The historic buildings, cafes, and art galleries offer insight into a city that has remained a center of trade, culture, and religion for over a thousand years. Every nook has a story, and every doorway opens to the illustrious past of Cairo.

Finally, the day ends in the Khan El Khalili Bazaar, where the colors, scents, and sounds overwhelm your senses. As you walk through this bustling market, you see craftsmen working, merchants displaying their wares, and the beat of a market that has thrived for centuries. This is the place to purchase souvenirs to take home, as reminders of a day filled with history, art, and culture. Before the sun sets, Cairo has shared its magic, leaving memories and stories that will stay with you forever.

We will transfer you to check-in 5* hotel in Cairo for the overnight.

Where is Abu Simbel located?

Abu Simbel Temples are located in southern Egypt near the Sudanese border, about 280 km (175 miles) southwest of Aswan, on the western bank of Lake Nasser.

Why is Abu Simbel famous?

The temples were built by Pharaoh Ramesses II in the 13th century BC. They are famous for their colossal statues and for the incredible relocation project in the 1960s to save them from flooding after the construction of the Aswan High Dam.

Is Abu Simbel included in a standard Nile Cruise?

Usually, no. Most Nile Cruises sail between Luxor and Aswan. While they don't sail to Abu Simbel, almost all cruises offer it as an optional add-on excursion while the ship is docked in Aswan.

How much time do you need at Abu Simbel?

Visitors usually spend 2–3 hours exploring both the Great Temple of Ramesses II and the Temple of Queen Nefertari.

Is Abu Simbel suitable for children and seniors?

Yes. The site is accessible and relatively flat, but the heat can be intense. Early morning visits are recommended for families and seniors.

Is Abu Simbel worth visiting?

Absolutely. The scale, history, and preservation story of Abu Simbel make it one of Egypt’s most breathtaking archaeological sites and a highlight of any trip to Egypt.

Can I go inside the temples?

Yes! Unlike the Great Sphinx, your entry ticket includes access to the inner chambers of both the Great Temple of Ramesses II and the Temple of Nefertari. You can walk all the way back to the "Holy of Holies" sanctuary.

What is the Abu Simbel Sun Festival?

The Abu Simbel Sun Festival happens twice a year (around February 22 and October 22). On these dates, sunlight illuminates the inner sanctuary statues, an incredible ancient astronomical achievement.

Can Abu Simbel be done as a day trip?

Yes, it is commonly done as a day trip from Aswan, typically departing very early in the morning and returning by early afternoon.

Is Abu Simbel worth visiting?

Absolutely. The scale, history, and preservation story of Abu Simbel make it one of Egypt’s most breathtaking archaeological sites and a highlight of any trip to Egypt.
