In the morning, after enjoying your breakfast, begin your luxury 11-day Egypt tour with your private Egyptologist tour guide and visit some of Cairo’s top attractions. Next, we will explore the Giza Pyramids Complex, built around 2700 BC by the 4th Dynasty to preserve some of the greatest archaeological treasures in the world.

We will then visit the Great Pyramid of Pharaoh Khufu (2609–2584 BC), one of the most magnificent architectural achievements of the ancient world. Architect Hemiunu, with the help of 100,000 skilled workers, built this pyramid in 2570 BC using 2.3 million limestone blocks, totaling over 6 million tons, reaching a height of 147 meters. Inside, we will see the King’s Chamber, Queen’s Chamber, and Grand Hall.

Next, we will see the Great Sphinx, also called Horus of the Horizon, symbolizing the strength and wisdom of Pharaoh Khafre (2558–2532 BC). It measures 73 m long, 19 m wide, and 20 m high, carved from a single limestone block. Between its paws, we will find the Dream Stele of Thutmose IV, placed in 1401 BC.

We will also visit the Valley Temple, built around 2700 BC as a mortuary temple where the mummification and purification rituals of the 4th Dynasty’s royal family were performed.

Next, we will head to the Grand Egyptian Museum, a spectacular site covering nearly 490,000 square meters and aligned with the Giza Pyramids. Here, we can marvel at treasures such as the Hanging Obelisk, the 11-meter Colossus of Ramses II, and the complete collection of over 5,000 artifacts from Tutankhamun. GEM also hosts one of the largest conservation centers in the Middle East, research labs, and educational facilities dedicated to preserving Egypt’s heritage.

Afterward, we will enjoy lunch at a luxury restaurant with stunning views of the Pyramids or the Nile

Finally, we will visit the Step Pyramid of Saqqara, the earliest large-scale cut-stone construction in history, which marked Egypt’s golden age of pyramids. Built for Pharaoh Djoser (2649–2611 BC) by his architect Imhotep, it rises 62 meters tall and includes the first pyramid complex of its kind.

Finally, we will drive you back to your hotel in Cairo for overnight.

Enjoy your breakfast and embark on a private tour to Alexandria with your own private Egyptologist guide to continue your luxury 11-day Egypt tour.

First, we will visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, a marvelous Roman burial site built in the 2nd century AD. This underground tomb, originally designed for a single family, is famous for its stunning blend of Egyptian and Roman art and architecture and is considered one of the seven wonders of the Middle Ages.

Next, we will see Pompey’s Pillar, constructed between 298 and 302 AD. This remarkable 25-meter granite column was built in honor of Emperor Diocletian and may contain the remains of General Pompey on top of the pillar.

Built in 280 BC by King Ptolemy II, it was carefully relocated to Agilkia Island during the UNESCO Nubia Campaign in the 1960s–70s. Abu Simbel Temples are located in southern Egypt near the Sudanese border, about 280 km (175 miles) southwest of Aswan, on the western bank of Lake Nasser.

Why is Abu Simbel famous?

The temples were built by Pharaoh Ramesses II in the 13th century BC. They are famous for their colossal statues and for the incredible relocation project in the 1960s to save them from flooding after the construction of the Aswan High Dam.

Is Abu Simbel included in a standard Nile Cruise?

Usually, no. Most Nile Cruises sail between Luxor and Aswan. While they don't sail to Abu Simbel, almost all cruises offer it as an optional add-on excursion while the ship is docked in Aswan.

How much time do you need at Abu Simbel?

Visitors usually spend 2–3 hours exploring both the Great Temple of Ramesses II and the Temple of Queen Nefertari.

Is Abu Simbel suitable for children and seniors?

Yes. The site is accessible and relatively flat, but the heat can be intense. Early morning visits are recommended for families and seniors.

Is Abu Simbel worth visiting?

Absolutely. The scale, history, and preservation story of Abu Simbel make it one of Egypt’s most breathtaking archaeological sites and a highlight of any trip to Egypt.

Can I go inside the temples?

Yes! Unlike the Great Sphinx, your entry ticket includes access to the inner chambers of both the Great Temple of Ramesses II and the Temple of Nefertari. You can walk all the way back to the "Holy of Holies" sanctuary.

What is the Abu Simbel Sun Festival?

The Abu Simbel Sun Festival happens twice a year (around February 22 and October 22). On these dates, sunlight illuminates the inner sanctuary statues, an incredible ancient astronomical achievement.

Can Abu Simbel be done as a day trip?

Yes, it is commonly done as a day trip from Aswan, typically departing very early in the morning and returning by early afternoon.

Is Abu Simbel worth visiting?
