Begin with the Aswan High Dam, a modern engineering marvel built in the 1960s and 70s by the Egyptian government in collaboration with the Soviet Union. This impressive structure controls the Nile’s annual floods, creates Lake Nasser, and generates electricity, marking a significant milestone in Egypt’s modern development.
Next, visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (1508–1458 BC), one of the greatest archaeological wonders in Aswan. Meant to stand at the entrance of the Karnak Temple, this massive obelisk broke during carving, leaving it lying in its quarry. It provides a remarkable insight into the skill and techniques of ancient Egyptian artisans and builders.
For lunch, enjoy a delicious meal with your tour guide before continuing to the Philae Temple. Built during the Ptolemaic era (380–362 BC) and later expanded in 282 and 145 BC, this magnificent temple is dedicated to Isis, the goddess of motherhood. Inside the temples, the walls depict the grand Battle of Kadesh (1274 BC) and commemorate the signing of the first documented peace treaty with the Hittites. Ramses II also immortalized his legacy by celebrating his birthday and coronation on 22nd February and October, as well as honoring his beloved Queen Nefertari.

Next, explore the Valley of the Kings a hidden necropolis in the heart of Thebes. This sacred site houses 63 tombs of legendary rulers including Tutankhamun, Seti I, Hatshepsut, and Ramses II from the New Kingdom (1570–1050 BC). These tombs were carefully designed to protect the pharaohs on their journey to the afterlife.
For lunch, take a break to enjoy a delicious meal before continuing to the Colossi of Memnon These towering seated statues of Amenhotep III, built in 1350 BC and later renovated during the Hellenistic period, rise to 18 meters (60 ft). They reflect the king’s power, family, and accomplishments, with 107 Latin and Greek inscriptions on their base telling the legendary tale of the Greek mythological king Memnon.

It stands 30 ft above the ground and contains exquisite Coptic designs, marking the place where the Holy Family is believed to have sought refuge while traveling across Egypt.

This remarkable site was a holy burial ground and is considered one of the seven wonders of the Middle Ages, showcasing stunning sculptures, carvings, and tomb designs that blend Egyptian, Greek, and Roman styles
Next, visit Pompey’s Pillar, the largest monolithic Roman column on earth, standing 28 meters tall. Built between 298–302 AD to honor the emperor Diocletian, this magnificent structure sits on the eastern side of the Serapeum of Alexandria and represents the incredible Roman influence in Egypt
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Alexandria before continuing to the Qaitbay Citadel, a majestic Mamluk-era fortress built between 1477–1479 AD along the Mediterranean coast.
