Enjoy a delightful lunch at a local Cairo restaurant, then continue your journey to the historic Salah El-Din Citadel. Overlooking Cairo for more than 800 years, the citadel sits atop the Mokattam Hill, constructed in 1182 AD by the legendary conqueror Salah El-Din. This formidable fortress served as the seat of rulers and a defense against foreign invaders, including the Crusaders and Napoleon’s French troops.
