Once ready, you will join your private Egyptologist tour guide to begin your adventure at some of the most iconic and majestic sites of Egyptian civilization.

Your first stop will be the Giza Pyramids, a timeless wonder that has stood for over 4,000 years. This incredible complex includes the three main pyramids, six smaller pyramids, the great Sphinx, and the Valley Temple, preserving the magic and mystery of Egypt’s past. As you walk through this monumental site, you will feel the awe and ingenuity of ancient Egyptian builders.

Next, you will explore the Great Pyramid of Khufu, a true marvel of ancient engineering. Built in 2580 BC, it is over 4,500 years old and was constructed over 20 years using 2,300,000 limestone blocks, each weighing 2.5 tons. Standing at 147 meters (481 ft), it was the tallest man-made structure in the world for nearly 3,800 years. This pyramid reflects the immense power and vision of ancient Egypt, offering a window into the genius and grandeur of the civilization.

Then, you will see the Great Sphinx, the heavenly guardian of the Giza plateau. This majestic statue, 73 meters (240 ft) long and 19 meters (66 ft) high, combines the body of a lion with the head of a man, believed to be King Khafre, symbolizing power and wisdom. Standing before it, you will feel the centuries of mystery, allure, and inspiration that continue to captivate travelers and artists alike.

Afterward, you will visit the Valley Temple, a site of extraordinary significance where the mummification process took place during the Old Kingdom (2686–2181 BC). Made of limestone and granite, the temple houses incredible diorite statues of King Khafre and remains one of the best-preserved buildings of ancient Egypt.

Next, you will be amazed by the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), a state-of-the-art archaeological facility spanning nearly 490,000 square meters and aligned with the golden pyramids. GEM serves as a gateway to 5,000 years of history, blending ancient artistry and modern innovation. You will marvel at treasures such as the Hanging Obelisk, the 11-meter colossus of Ramses II, and the complete collection of over 5,000 artifacts from Tutankhamun. GEM also hosts one of the largest conservation centers in the Middle East, with research labs and educational facilities dedicated to preserving Egypt’s heritage for generations to come.

After this awe-inspiring morning, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Cairo, recharging for the afternoon adventure.

In the afternoon, your journey continues to Saqqara, home of the legendary Step Pyramid, credited with starting the golden age of pyramid construction in Ancient Egypt. Built by the brilliant Imhotep, vizier of Pharaoh Djoser, the pyramid has a unique six-step design and stands 62 meters tall. The surrounding complex, the first of its kind, includes majestic ceremonial structures and enchanting decorations, offering a fascinating glimpse into the innovations of early Egyptian architecture.

On your third day, after enjoying a hearty breakfast at your hotel in Cairo, you will embark on a journey to the pearl of the Mediterranean, Alexandria, to continue your 6-day Cairo and Alexandria vacation. Upon arrival, your adventure begins with visits to some of the city’s most iconic sites.

Your first stop is the Qaitbay Citadel, a majestic fortress that echoes the past and preserves the spirit of an ancient wonder. Built in 1477 by Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf al-din Qa'it Bay, it stands on the very site of the legendary Lighthouse of Alexandria, once one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The citadel was constructed using stones salvaged from the destroyed lighthouse, which had stood for centuries until a series of earthquakes between 956 AD and 1323 AD led to its demise. Today, travelers admire the Qaitbay Citadel for its blend of Islamic-era architectural brilliance and the lingering spirit of the ancient lighthouse.

Next, you will explore the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, a magical underground necropolis that feels like a living Middle-Age painting. Dating back to the 2nd century AD, the catacombs beautifully fuse Pharaonic Egyptian artistry with Hellenistic and Roman influences. Spanning three levels, the site contains numerous Greek and Roman artifacts and decorations, earning it recognition as one of the seven wonders of the Middle Ages.

Following that, you will visit Pompey’s Pillar, a symbol of the glory and might of ancient Greek civilization. This colossal monolith, the largest column built outside Rome, stands 28 meters tall and 2.7 meters wide, crafted from pure red granite. Named after the Roman general Pompey by medieval Crusaders, it bears a Greek inscription dedicated to Emperor Diocletian on its western upper side. Standing before it, you will appreciate the scale and craftsmanship of ancient builders.

For lunch, you will enjoy a meal at a seafood restaurant in Alexandria, savoring the fresh flavors of the Mediterranean while relaxing before the afternoon adventure.

After lunch, your next stop is the Alexandria Library, one of the largest and most advanced libraries in the world. Serving as a modern commemoration of the ancient Library of Alexandria, it houses a trilingual collection of books in Arabic, English, and French, including the largest repository of French books in North Africa and the Middle East. You will also explore its majestic art galleries and view rare book collections, offering a glimpse into centuries of knowledge and culture.

Finally, you will be transferred back to Cairo, returning to your hotel for an overnight stay, reflecting on a day filled with history, culture, and the magical charm of Alexandria.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Overnight: Cairo Hotel

On your fourth day, after enjoying a delicious breakfast, you will continue your 6-day Cairo and Alexandria vacation by exploring the very heart of “The City of Minarets,” Cairo. Joined by your private Egyptologist tour guide, you will immerse yourself in the city’s endless magic, history, and culture.

Your first stop will be The Egyptian Museum, a heavenly house of transcendence showcasing the incredible treasures of Ancient Egypt spanning over 5,000 years. This two-floor building, built in 1902 in the heart of downtown Cairo, holds priceless artifacts that illuminate the true legacy and culture of the Pharaohs, including statues, papyrus scrolls, and the iconic treasures of Tutankhamun.

After marveling at the museum, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Cairo, recharging for the afternoon’s journey through history.

In the afternoon, you will explore The Hanging Church, one of Egypt’s most famous Coptic landmarks. Built in the 5th century AD atop the southern wall of the Roman fortress Babylon, this church served as the residence for the Coptic Patriarch for many years. Suspended 30 feet above the ground, it offers a stunning view of the city. Its construction and interior design reflect artistic elements from the 7th to 13th centuries, making it an enchanting blend of history and spirituality.

Next, you will visit Amr Ibn Al-Aas Mosque, the first mosque in Africa, built in 641 AD. Rebuilt numerous times over the centuries, it remains an active house of worship and a prominent historical landmark. This mosque is a living example of the evolution of Islamic architecture in Egypt, showcasing layers of history and culture through its design.

Following that, you will explore the Ben Ezra Synagogue, a truly unique site in Egypt. Originally built as a church in the 19th century, it was transformed into a synagogue in 882 AD. Believed to have housed a copy of the Old Testament, this site served as the center of Jewish worship for centuries and remains in excellent condition, adorned with incredible decorations that reflect its rich heritage.

Your next destination is the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC), a miraculous center celebrating 5,000 years of Egypt’s historical and cultural wealth. Opened to the public in 2020, it offers a golden pathway to the eternal treasures of Egypt, providing a modern yet immersive experience that connects visitors with the heart of Egyptian civilization.

From there, you will stroll along Al Muizz Street, a magical labyrinth of streets created during the reign of Al-Fatemi (953–975 AD) and expanded in 1171 AD. This historic street is a showcase of Islamic architectural brilliance and artistic excellence, filled with shops, cafés, and markets that have preserved the spirit of old Cairo for centuries.

Finally, you will visit the bustling Khan El Khalili Bazaar, the golden brick road of the Middle East. Established in 970 AD, this famous market remains vibrant to this day, offering everything a traveler could imagine. You will feel the magic of Islamic architecture, explore centuries-old shops, and experience the living spirit of Cairo’s past as you wander through this iconic marketplace.

By the end of the day, your heart and mind will be filled with the rich history, vibrant culture, and timeless charm of Cairo, ready to rest at your hotel overnight.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Overnight: Cairo Hotel

On your fifth day, after enjoying a delicious breakfast, you will continue your 6-day Cairo and Alexandria vacation by discovering the majestic Islamic treasures that Cairo has to offer. Joined by your private Egyptologist tour guide, your day will be filled with history, art, and breathtaking architecture.

Your first stop is the Salah El Din Citadel, a towering fortress of glory that has dominated the skyline of Cairo for more than 800 years. Constructed in 1182 AD by the victorious ruler Salah El-Din, this citadel served as the center of governance and a powerful fortress protecting Egypt from invaders such as the Crusaders and Napoleon’s French troops. For over 700 years, it acted as the headquarters of Egyptian rulers. Inside the citadel, you will explore museums and miraculously structured buildings, each telling stories of Egypt’s medieval past.

Next, you will visit the Muhammad Ali Mosque, famously known as the Alabaster Mosque due to its extensive use of marble. Built between 1830 and 1848, it was inspired by the Blue Mosque in Istanbul and stands as a symbol of Egyptian independence and resistance against the Ottoman Empire. The mosque’s Ottoman-style architecture with French Rococo influences is truly captivating. A unique highlight is the ornate brass clock, a gift from King Louis Philippe of France in 1845, exchanged for the obelisk now standing in Concorde Square, Paris.

From there, you will move to Sultan Hassan Mosque, one of the finest examples of Mamluk Islamic architecture in Cairo. Built by Sultan Hassan between 1356 and 1363 AD, this mosque is truly monumental, measuring 150 meters in length, covering 7,906 square meters, and with walls soaring 36 meters high. Interestingly, stones from the Giza Pyramids were used in its construction. Legend says the mosque’s lavish decorations were so costly that it almost emptied the Mamluk Treasury, reflecting the grandeur and artistic genius of the period.

After a morning of wonder, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with your tour guide, recharging for the afternoon adventures.

In the afternoon, your journey continues with the Al Rifai Mosque, a majestic architectural marvel located in Midan Al-Qal, right next to the Cairo Citadel and opposite Sultan Hassan Mosque. Known as the Royal Mosque, it was designed to mirror Sultan Hassan Mosque in scale and grandeur. Built between 1868 and 1912, it spans 6,500 square meters and serves as a prayer house and mausoleum for the royal family descended from Muhammad Ali.

Finally, you will visit the Ibn Tulun Mosque, a masterpiece of Islamic architecture that perfectly captures the spirit and essence of Islamic civilization in Egypt. Constructed by Emir Ahmed Ibn Tulun, who ruled Egypt from 868 to 883 AD, the mosque is built on 26,318 square meters, making it the third-largest mosque in the world. It is believed to be located on the landing site of Noah’s Ark, and its unique architectural style influenced later Gothic architecture, leaving a legacy that echoes through time.

By the end of the day, your mind and soul will be enriched with the history, spirituality, and architectural brilliance of Islamic Cairo, ready to return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
