This sacred site, dating back to around 2600 BC, stands as one of the greatest symbols of Egypt’s timeless legacy.
First, you will explore the magnificent Great Pyramid of King Khufu (2609 BC – 2584 BC), built under the supervision of the chief architect Hemiunu around 2570 BC. It rises to a height of 147 meters and was constructed using approximately 2.3 million limestone blocks by hundreds of thousands of skilled workers. It remains the only surviving wonder of the ancient world and contains remarkable chambers such as the King’s Chamber and other hidden structures.
Then, continue to the legendary Great Sphinx, the eternal guardian of Giza, known as Horus of the Horizon. Carved from a massive limestone rock, it features the face of King Chephren (2558–2532 BC) with the body of a lion, symbolizing strength and wisdom. Between its paws lies the Dream Stele of Thutmose IV, added in 1401 BC, adding historical depth to this monumental statue.
Next, visit the Valley Temple, a significant mortuary site built around 2600 BC. It served as a center for mummification and purification rituals for the kings and queens of the Fourth Dynasty before their burial in the pyramids of Giza.
Then, proceed to the remarkable Grand Egyptian Museum, a modern architectural masterpiece spanning nearly 490,000 square meters. Located near the pyramids, it serves as a gateway to over 5,000 years of history, showcasing priceless artifacts such as the Hanging Obelisk, the colossal statue of Ramses II, and the complete collection of Tutankhamun’s treasures. The museum also features advanced conservation centers, research labs, and immersive exhibits that connect ancient heritage with modern innovation.
After that, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your tour to the historic Saqqara Step Pyramid, the first large-scale stone construction in history. Built during the reign of King Djoser (2649 BC – 2611 BC) and designed by the architect Imhotep, this pyramid consists of six stepped layers reaching a height of 62 meters, marking the beginning of pyramid construction in ancient Egypt.
Finally, you will be transferred to your 5★ hotel in Cairo for overnight stay.
