First, you will visit the impressive High Dam, a modern engineering masterpiece built during the 1960s and 1970s. It played a major role in transforming Egypt by controlling the Nile’s floods, generating electricity, and supporting agricultural development across the country.
Then, continue to the remarkable Unfinished Obelisk, commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut (1508–1458 BC). This massive structure, located in the ancient granite quarries of Aswan, offers a fascinating insight into the techniques used by ancient Egyptian craftsmen and stands today as an open-air museum showcasing their incredible skills.
Next, visit the enchanting Philae Temple, a sacred monument dedicated to the goddess Isis and closely associated with the myth of Osiris. Built in 280 BC during the reign of King Ptolemy II, it is one of the finest examples of late Egyptian architecture. The temple was carefully relocated to Agilkia Island during the UNESCO Nubia Campaign in the 1960s and 1970s to preserve it from flooding, where it remains today.
Then, enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant in Aswan before checking in at your 5★ hotel for an overnight stay.
