These tombs hold the memories, achievements, and legacies of the greatest rulers of ancient Egypt during the New Kingdom (1550 – 1070 BC), including famous kings such as Tutankhamun and Ramses the Great.

Next, continue your journey to the magnificent Hatshepsut Temple, a timeless masterpiece of classical architecture built in 1479 BC to honor the god Amun and immortalize the glorious achievements of Queen Hatshepsut (1508–1458 BC). The temple remains one of the best-preserved monuments in the world.

This extraordinary site reflects the religious devotion to the Theban Triad of Amun-Re, Mut, and Montu, and features contributions from great pharaohs such as Ramses the Great and Amenhotep IV. Along with the ancient city of Thebes, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.
