Itineraries

Your spiritual day trip into the heart of Middle Egypt begins with a private, early morning pickup from your hotel. To maximize your time among these rare monuments, we embark on a 4-hour scenic drive south in a deluxe air-conditioned vehicle, tracing the path of the Nile toward the historical province of El Minya.

Perched on the eastern cliffs overlooking the Nile, the Beni Hassan Tombs offer some of the most human and vivid portrayals of ancient Egyptian society. Dating back to the Middle Kingdom (c. 2000 BC), this site served as the final resting place for the powerful governors of the region. Out of the 39 rock-cut tombs, you will step inside the most famous ones to witness extraordinary wall paintings. Unlike the rigid royal scenes of Giza, these murals depict acrobatic performances, weaving, hunting, and the world-renowned wrestling scenes—offering a 4,000-year-old "action movie" of ancient Egyptian life.

The journey continues to Tell El Amarna, the ruins of "Akhetaten," the short-lived capital founded by the revolutionary Pharaoh Akhenaten and Queen Nefertiti in 1363 BC. Here, you will witness the site of a true religious revolution. Your guide will explain how Akhenaten defied centuries of tradition by unifying Egypt's many gods into the worship of a single god—the sun disk, Aten. As you explore the palaces and northern tombs, you’ll see the unique "Amarna Art" style, which portrays the royal family with a naturalism and intimacy never seen before or after in Pharaonic history.

After your deep dive into these revolutionary chapters of history, a majestic lunch featuring local El Minya flavors will be served at a select restaurant overlooking the Nile. Once refreshed, your private vehicle will begin the journey back to Cairo, returning you to your hotel with memories of Egypt's most intriguing and "off-the-beaten-path" treasures.
