Itineraries

Your day trip to Alexandria from Cairo with Deluxe Tours Egypt is a sophisticated journey from the desert heart of the capital to the cool sea breezes of the Mediterranean coast. This exclusive experience begins with a private morning pickup from your hotel in a luxury air-conditioned vehicle with your personal Egyptologist guide for a scenic drive to the "Pearl of the Mediterranean."

Your exploration begins with a descent into the enigmatic Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages. This magnificent Roman burial site is a true marvel of cultural fusion, where family tombs showcase a unique blend of artistry that combines Egyptian, Greek, and Roman styles. Your guide will lead you through the underground tunnels to explore the elaborate decorations and the historical Caracalla Hall.

The journey continues with a visit to the majestic Pompey’s Pillar, a gigantic 82-foot (25-meter) high monolith made of red granite that towers over the ancient city. Built to honor Emperor Diocletian, this pillar is the sole surviving part of the ancient Serapeum Temple and stands as a powerful symbol of the Greco-Roman legacy in Alexandria.

Next, you will visit the impressive Citadel of Qaitbay, a 15th-century naval fortress built proudly on the shores of the Mediterranean. This fortress was constructed in 1477 AD by Sultan Al-Ashraf Qaytbay, using the original stones of the legendary Pharos Lighthouse—one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World—which once stood on this very spot.

A high-class lunch will be served at a special seafood restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, offering a perfect moment to enjoy the fresh flavors of the coast.

To conclude your tour, you will visit the modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina, an architectural marvel that commemorates Alexandria’s glory as the ancient world's center of knowledge. Designed to be a literary landmark of the 21st century, the library features special exhibitions highlighting Egyptian history and a gallery of antique manuscripts.

After a day filled with the glamour and legendary history of the shores of Alexandria, we will return you to your hotel in Cairo in the comfort of your private vehicle.
