Upon arrival in the afternoon, you will join your private Egyptologist to visit the extraordinary Kom Ombo Temple. This unique double-design masterpiece stands out as a golden architectural feat from the Ptolemaic dynasty (180 BC – 47 BC).

Unlike any other site in Egypt, this temple is perfectly symmetrical along its main axis, possessing two identical dual religious centers:

After enjoying a delicious breakfast onboard, your third day begins with an immersive journey into the "Golden Age" of Ptolemaic architecture. You will be escorted by your private Egyptologist to witness one of the most impeccably preserved monuments of the ancient world.

Dedicated to Horus the Falcon, the sky god of protection and kingship, the Edfu Temple is an architectural marvel that stands as a "library in stone." Built between 237 BC and 57 BC, this massive sandstone fortress is so complete that it challenges our perception of time.

You will enter through the Great Pylon, one of the largest in Egypt, where dramatic reliefs depict the Pharaoh smiting his enemies before the gods. As you wander through the hypostyle halls and into the inner sanctuary, your guide will reveal the "mythological secrets" carved into the walls, including the legendary Battle between Horus and Seth. Because the temple was buried under 12 meters of desert sand and Nile silt until its discovery in 1860, the inscriptions and even some of the original vibrant colors remain exceptionally clear, providing the most detailed account of ancient Egyptian theology ever discovered.

After your exploration, return to the cruise to begin the most scenic leg of your voyage. As the ship sails north toward Luxor, you will pass through the Esna Lock, a fascinating engineering experience where the vessel is leveled to match the river's height.

Spend your afternoon on the sun deck, watching the timeless scenes of river life—lush palm groves, traditional feluccas, and local farmers—drift serenely past. Your first stop is the Valley of the Kings, a "fortified village of kingship" hidden deep within the Theban Necropolis. For over 500 years during the New Kingdom, this valley served as the royal gateway to the afterlife for 63 monarchs, including Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and Seti I. You will descend into the beautifully decorated tombs to witness vibrant wall paintings and intricate hieroglyphics that shed light on the funerary rituals and divine journeys of Egypt’s greatest rulers.

Next, you will visit the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a masterpiece of classical architecture hovering in the stony cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. Built in the 15th century BC, this three-tiered sanctuary honored the blessings of Amun-Re and eternalized the legacy of one of Egypt’s most successful female Pharaohs. Before crossing back to the East Bank, you will stand before the Colossi of Memnon. These two massive quartzite statues of Amenhotep III have stood their ground since 1350 BC. Despite centuries of environmental challenges, they remain highly important landmarks that showcase fascinating details from the New Kingdom and the subsequent Greco-Roman period.

After a refreshing lunch at an oriental restaurant, you will head to the Karnak Temple Complex, the largest religious compound ever built. This "enlightening open-air museum" was constructed over 2,000 years to honor the Theban Triad of Amun-Re, Mut, and Montu. You will be awestruck by the Great Hypostyle Hall, a forest of 134 massive columns, and the towering pylons that form the heart and soul of ancient Thebes.
