Overnight: Cairo Hotel
Morning: After having a refreshing breakfast, you would set out with your private tour guide to start your Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan tour package by visiting the most renowned archaeological attraction in the world, the Giza Pyramids Complex. This historic attraction has survived for more than 4,000 years, making it one of the oldest existing wonders in the world. Your first stop would be the Great Pyramid of King Khufu, which is an awe-inspiring architectural marvel and the only existing wonder from the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This 147m-tall marvel, which took the form of the world’s tallest building for 3,800 years, was constructed in 2580 BC using more than two million limestone blocks.
The tour proceeds to the Great Sphinx, a statue that occupies a unique position in the history of the world because of its enormous size and ancient craftsmanship. Carved out of a single giant limestone rock, the Sphinx is depicted as having the body of a lion, as well as the head of King Khafre, who embodies the ideal blend of wisdom and strength. Renowned as the "Abu Al-Hawl" or the Father of Terror, the Sphinx is the eternal protector of the plateau. Very close by, the tour proceeds to the Valley Temple, the holiest of places that witnessed the Mummification Process. Built during the reign of the Old Kingdom, this well-preserved temple of limestone and granite is the main reason we have been able to learn about the ancient Egyptian funerary practices, in addition to featuring the incomparable diorite statues of King Khafre. Then comes the future of history at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), an awe-inspiring blend of cutting-edge science and archaeological grandeur. Covering an area of 490,000 square meters and harmoniously situated in alignment with the Giza Pyramids, the GEM marks the beginning of an amazing journey of 5,000 years of heritage. Here, you will be amazed at witnessing the world's first Hanging Obelisk, the massive 11-meter colossus of Ramses II, and the legendary full collection of King Tutankhamun.
Lunch Time Move to have your lunch at a local restaurant in Cairo and continue your trip by a visit to the Saqqara Step Pyramid.
To round off this monumental day, you will visit the Saqqara Step Pyramid, which marks the beginning of the golden age of pyramid-building. Designed by the brilliant Imhotep for Pharaoh Djoser in 2700 BC, this six-stepped limestone pyramid soars an impressive 62 meters into the air, and it's situated in a unique ceremonial complex that has never been seen before and has remarkably survived intact for so many centuries.
We'll fly to Aswan and check into the hotel for the overnight stay.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Flight: From Cairo to Aswan
The third day of your trip will begin with breakfast, after which you will meet your personal Egyptologist guide who will accompany you as you discover the magnificent sights of Aswan. Your adventure will commence at the High Dam, a monumental endeavor which embodies the contemporary essence of Egypt. Built between 1960 and 1970 during the rule of Gamal Abdel-Nasser, this monumental achievement was intended to regulate the annual flooding of the Nile, as well as harness its hydroelectric power by creating Lake Nasser, which is the world’s largest man-made reservoir lake.
The history of Aswan is further explored at the Unfinished Obelisk, a magnificent monument erected on the orders of Queen Hatshepsut (1508–1458 BC). Meant to accompany the Lateran Obelisk at the entrance of the Karnak Temple, this massive obelisk would have stood at 42 meters tall and would have weighed 1,200 tons. But a flaw in the granite meant that it was left in situ, and this has given us a unique perspective on the techniques of the ancient Egyptians in cutting the granite.
Lunch Time Enjoy your lunch at a restaurant in Aswan, then continue your 6 Days Cairo, Luxor & Aswan tour by exploring Philae Temple.
To wrap up your day in Aswan, you will visit the breathtaking Philae Temple, which is dedicated to Isis, the Goddess of Love and Beauty. The temple is world-renowned for its beautiful reliefs that showcase the 'Myth of Osiris,' an immortal tale of love, betrayal, and rebirth. You'll get to walk through the halls where the myth of Isis, Osiris, and their son Horus unfolds against the breathtaking view of the Nile River, making it one of the most beautiful and spiritual spots in Egypt.
Taking the train from Aswan to Luxor and checking into a hotel in Luxor for the overnight stay.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Overnight: Luxor Hotel
After having your breakfast at your hotel, you will be joined by your personal guide and taken to Luxor by train to start your in-depth 6-day experience. Your journey starts at the legendary Valley of the Kings, which is situated deep inside the heart of a mountain. This World Heritage Site was the final resting ground of the legendary kings and queens of the New Kingdom Period (1570–1070 BC). You will be given an opportunity to visit some of the 63 tombs that are adorned with mesmerizing paintings and stunning artifacts of legendary figures like Ramses II, Amenhotep I, and the young pharaoh Tutankhamun.
The tour through the New Kingdom's Golden Age proceeds at the Temple of Hatshepsut, also called Djeser-Djeseru (Holy of Holies). This temple was constructed in the year 1479 BC and is an authentic work of genius in the architecture of the past, testifying to the greatness and fascination of Queen Hatshepsut, who was undoubtedly one of the most successful Egyptian pharaohs. This temple is devoted to the god Amun and demonstrates the magnitude and creativity of the time in its step-like terraces. Nearby is the Colossi of Memnon, the two giant guardians of the Necropolis of Thebes. These 18-meter-high statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III have become world-famous in the Greco-Roman period for the “Vocal Memnon” because of the singing noise produced by the wind passing through the statue at dawn.
Lunch Time Then move to have your lunch on an island, so your tour includes a boat trip in the Nile River followed by a tour to Karnak Temples.
In conclusion to this epic day, you shall visit the Karnak Temples, which represent the holiest place in the city of Luxor, as well as the largest religious man-made construction in the entire world. This sacred place was known by the Egyptians as Ipet-isu, which translates to "The Most Selected of Places."
